Dr Matthew Smith BM,MRCGP,FRACGP
Dr Matthew Smith graduated with a Batchelor of Medicine from the University of Southampton, England in 2007. After completing his junior doctor rotations, he went on to complete his GP training in Dorset, England in 2012. In March 2014 he moved to Australia after attaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He is a registered practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
Dr Matthew Smith has many speciality areas of interest including Dermatology and skin cancer. He has undertaken formal training with the ACCO in Melbourne in 2016 and has several years of experience in the management of skin cancer & surgery during his time in Australia and previously New Zealand. He is awaiting postgraduate qualifications which will include a Certificate in Primary Skin Cancer Medicine and Certificate in Advanced Dermoscopy. Dr Smith has since become involved with Mole Mapping WA and helped set up this service at Landsdale Medical Centre. He currently runs a weekly skin cancer clinic as part of this service. He is also expanding his field in cosmetic medicine and has been trained though Allergan in the use of Botox. Dr Smith regularly attends postgraduate training courses and conferences relating to skin cancer medicine. Furthermore, Dr Smith is a Clinical Lecturer for UWA medical students, a supervisor to new International Medical Graduates and is in the process of becoming a GP supervisor for trainee GP registrars from 2019.
